A brisk wind blew and swirled a seed down and down to the rich soil,
It sat and germinated and grew root,
It stretched and yawned and soon it sprung above looking for the Creators love,
It saw the sun and embraced its warmth,
It was nurtured for a time but soon some damage occurred,
A draught came and the new sprout was denied its vital water,
It's leaves began to dry up and wilt and it was strained,
In time it began to rain which brought the needed sustenance,
Over the years their would be more sun, more draught, more life,
The plant was now a giant redwood, fully self-contained,
With roots anchored deep within the Earth,
It took many years for the roots to reach a rich and full underground stream,
The redwood has all it needs for a happy existence,
It's tree spirit and trunk are strong and able to weather all that nature brings.
With it's many seasons of experiences it knows how to live and thrive,
It will council the young seeds that swirl down and down onto the soil,
Take heart little young ones, there is much to come.
