Night sky streams like a calming river,
the moon comes alive for just a moment.
We sit and stare, the earth our pillow,
taking in the intoxicating air. 
Trapped in the moment,
we sit and count the stars.

    I sit and count stars still...loved to do it when
    i was little with my best friend...I always claimed
    that I counted up to a million! I was such a fibber
    but she didn't seem to mind. This is a lovely poem,
    and thanks for stirring up a sweet little memory.
