They want perfection.
Every little strand in place.
Every mark the fullest.
They crave perfection
from you.
Look in the mirror
-your skin is a mess-
where did that stray hair
on your arm come from?
Pluck, Preen, Pamper.
Maybe they wont notice.
They will notice.
Look here, look there -laugh-
Pay attention in class.
How will you do well?
You did the best.
The best is not good enough.
Maybe they wont care.
They will care.
Your eyeliner is smudged,
your hair; everywhere.
Clothes crumpled and
thrown in the corner
along with that dreaded
Report Card.
You look at yourself in the mirror
-laugh-
You would like to see them now.
You would like them to see what they have done to you.
