Walking through time.

Unheard footsteps on the stairs,
A door closes without a hand,
Fragments of time consuming.

We’ve walked these corridors,
We’ve lived inside these rooms,
We’re the ones that built this castle.

A jungle outside stone walls,
Once beautiful, once wonderful.
Now a place no one can exist in.

I’m just a ghost, traveling again,
Walking through memories.
These hands gracing my time here.

I was the one, the only one,
The one that was the royalty,
Castle walls coming down.

If you see me tell me so,
For I forgot what made me come.
Time takes its toll,

But won’t tear down my home, no.

Author notes

I just love the idea of ghosts remaining in these old places. Even though I'm not a ghost-believer.
