The bridge of the future
was strong,
leading us firmly
to the dreams we shared.
But dark mists of jealousy
have gradually rotted
once firm foundations.
You believed the lies,
now I am left
in funereal robes
of solitude and tears
and the storm envelops
any hopes of reconciliation
Yet you cannot see the colours
of a future,
just beyond your reach.
Each step is now paper thin
and I dare not move any further,
lest your darkness clings to me.
Hope is not lost
even though I cringe
as indigo emotions
try to invade my soul.
Soon my dreams
will overcome your bleak outlook
and I will find the courage to show you.
