Warmer Thoughts

Filigree snowflakes
cover summer's
worn carpet
of orange leaves -

my desire
for her still burns
like August heat
under a Texas moon.

August heat under a Texas moon, now this is quite a thought, I do love Autumn, hence the name. Perfect for this prompt. Best to you in the contest

      Autumn,

I lived in Texas for 10 years. It can get a little warm in August.

Filigree fits so perfectly, both in the sound and in the description.

    worn carpet
    of orange leaves - super

I think you pulled off the ending, even if it has been said many times, you expressed it differently and concisely. Cool

I love this, Joe, yes, the word filigree lends wonderful imagery to the poem. which I would, btw, title differently, because you have it also in the body of the poem maybe something that links the frost to the heat?=)
