The wrought iron fence
It seems content
To keep death inside
The marble stone
Is not alone
The corpes they do hide
A six foot grave
A body layed
An untimely death
The crosses stand
The shadows grand
The halting of the breath
The moon lit night
So big and bright
Life has took it's toll
You best beware
For coming there
The taker of the soul
"Fear not him that can destroy the body
but not the soul. But fear Him that can
destroy the body and soul in hell"

Nice work
Well written. With lots to say many can take this in there own way. When you can write something that can be taken many ways that is a good poems. Cause people will read it and put there lives and feelings to your words.

I loved the short, tight, rhyming stanzas. The overall atmosphere was well conveyed, and the poem itself was excellently penned. It should have gotten more than honorable winner in my opinion, but I wasn't the judge so...
Nevertheless, good luck in my contest.
