Stopped by feet
that could
no longer
find the way,
swayed to the
sighs
of an empty
sky-
Lost for so
long,inside
my own prison,
to afraid
to break free,
trapped on
the edge of
the past and
the present
keeping company
within
misery's cage,
while looking
beyond
the bars-

Lovely !
You have a really lovely way of writing, there is not a wasted word - I tried to pick out one or two lines for higher praise - but they are all good !

-
very deep.gives you a new prespective

This could be taken in so many ways, quite literally with a few too many line breaks for my liking
. Nicely done thought. Best to you in the contest

hm.
I could continue to find many meanings to this if I kept reading over and over, as I have already. Maybe that's just me. Too busy trying to see all sides that I miss the intended. or maybe not.
I ramble... I shall blame the motrin/feverish state.
I do like your take on the picture. Misery's cage indeed. Great title.
Should I send ye new boots?
