They flutter, escaping playful grasp
jumping from spot to spot
running from hands
and cages meant to bind.
All in play, she says-
as a means to bring them back,
but they simply giggle
and frolic away.
Pretty ballerina dressed in pink frowns,
determined that one day-
she too will dance amongst them.
