Come on Baby,
it's time to stake a claim
and play the game.
George Washington Never Told A Lie-
at least, not a good one.
For they were never recorded in history,
but then again this surprises me-
aren't we all so obsessed with each others faults?
Wouldn't you like to tear
a great man like that
down to size?
Dream in technicolor
and dance to the beat of his laughter.
There are seas of nothingness lingering in his knowledge,
and damn, isn't that the sweetest thing yet.
As you masquerade around in your rose colored delight,
just remember who you came from-
who you're going to be.
You're just another lie in my fairy tale anyway.

Wow, this is a really good poem! I like the way that you interpreted the prompt: I love the comparisons to George Washington. My favorite line is "Wouldn't you like to tear
a great man like that
down to size?"
Good luck and keep writing!
