I don't know
what this purple sunrise
fortells for the day--
the stormy clouds,
vast, wide, are clear,
however.
Leave me trapped, engulfed,
as if it was all just a dream,
a silhouette of death,
or, follow me into the sky.
Hidden above the rest
in that simple freshness
far from windless winter,
far from where the battlefield lay;
for only this moment,
come with me
on my apocalypse.
what this purple sunrise
fortells for the day--
the stormy clouds,
vast, wide, are clear,
however.
Leave me trapped, engulfed,
as if it was all just a dream,
a silhouette of death,
or, follow me into the sky.
Hidden above the rest
in that simple freshness
far from windless winter,
far from where the battlefield lay;
for only this moment,
come with me
on my apocalypse.

Mmm. I could taste it. That apocalypse of yours sounds worth it. For some strange reason, this poem made me think of Birches ("I'd like to get away from earth awhile")... Birches, of course, a bit more slow-paced and reflective, and yours a bit more strong-natured and dynamic. Whatever the case, you've successfully put me in that achy mood that only occurs when longing and beauty collide.
Be proud of this one.

I did not know about this "birches" poem. Thank you for introducing it to me, and thank you for your kind words of praise.

A really interesting write
I love:
a silhouette of death.
That was very striking
