I'm soft on the inside
gooey guts
              and
                      tender feelings
quiet thoughts
              and
                    a wet glistening heart

I am very protective of my innards
        and I make no apologies

I am hard on the outside
Tough like roaches
                        and
                            grasshoppers
I can cut glass
I can cut you

    This poem is surely one that most should be able to identify with. Your metaphors create real pictures with wonderfully descriptive words.
