Dreams

Dreams are ever so  personal,

some dreams are conversational,

others are strictly scary nightmares.

My recent ones were sad affairs,

where my long hair was twisted

brushed, colored then harvested.

Dreams may not come true,
but might simply be a preview
of things that may be possible.
Some dreams can be plausible,
while others are strictly fiction.

I hope they’re not a prediction!

A dream this morning gave me

a headache so bad, I had to plea

to stop that hairdresser trainee.

Your humorous interpretation of this picture made me smile. I used to dread visits to the hair salon until I finally found a perfect fit.
Our dreams can be fascinating. We conjur up the most absurd images and wonder where the thoughts developed.
Thank you for your entry. Peace, Liz

I dream every day in order to run away from this harsh world , hoping to know a new feeling that doesn't involve being depressed or angry . when I get so absorbed into the dream & I'm finally happy with this illusion, reality intrudes and turns everything upside down . The dream I made up in my mind is now a blur. I try to get the picture straight and clear & I let my imagination draw the events in my head hoping the picture will get brighter and that feeling will take control of me , at least for a moment or two. & then suddenly my eyes open and my world shatters into pieces. This dream goes on every night and it is never fully completed, it never comes true.
What an amazing write! It caught my attention right away and the words flowed wonderfully as I read it on and on.You expressed a well known truth that everyone copes with every day , sprinkled with humour that adds a special , unique taste to this lovely write.

    Great job!

A very imaginative interpretation and I love the matter of fact way you presented it. And the end is too funny, but needs a little tightening to fit better with rest of the poem. I so hate pointing out any defect, because I am so far from perfect, it isn't even funny!! Ha! Ha! Please accept my comments with a grain of salt and as it is your work, please do as you see fit. The picture and your interpretation are a very interesting match.

    Blessings,
    Doris

Dreams can be foreboding or hilarious. Much depends on your state of mind at the time. An excellent piece of dreamy meanderings with a humourous twist woven in.

Your humour with this amusing, though somewhat alarming prompt, is welcome, and educational..One would wonder if the lobotomy that they talked about in yesteryears was intimated...Hairdressers likely could be a dread to put their hands near your head after this prompt and your dream!
Clevely executed ( I mean your poem!), You with wit have written it to be an enhancement of the prompt, and most surely have our attention...Great brother, and I am sure you will do well in the contest!

Dreams sometimes an illusion of our outerself. Stemming from things we are troubled with. Soemtimes they are a way of coping from what lies within...our darker selves. Wonderful take on the prompt for this contest and pic as well. ~Sie
