and berry stained fingers trace where i lie
forever in the midst of agony
wiping my familiar form off their senses
they weep in their blundering path
to swallow a pitiful cry
stretching across my skin in ink
letters invisible to the eye
your words lovingly wrapped in silk
wondering in their vanishing guilt
to whisper a hopeless sigh
for these arms that shall never anymore
feel your languid touch of comfort
only regret in dying eyes and lifeless form
never a word uttered in wordless pain
leaving a well of unquenchable thirst
and berry stained fingers trace where i lied
forever in the midst of agony
searching my familiar form in silent senses
reluctant of unclasping their fragile hold
to choke on your cry.
Author notes
And how every tongue that gets bit always has another word to say
- Iron and Wine
p.s: I've heard the song.... I think its fab, but today I was inspired by these words to go in a totally different direction. I hope that is alright. ^_^
