Past Life

Mind cast on zounds of tears;
mummified by the bandages
which are supposed to help you live.

The only existence i can see today
is one inside my mind:
reliving brightness powers a euphoric light
to guide my preset being,
whilst I attend to matters
that are more real than the earth,
and cachinnate at those without eyes.

Author notes

Devestating nostalgia
drenched in sweat;
monopolized by past injuries
and blind to the present.
