New world, old world, kind world, cold world
Space inbetween, and that fatal, human chip
What is this madness into which we've been hurled?
There is a singular, insane idea which has been unfurled
Our priorities make all existence seem a comic strip
New world, old world, kind world, cold world
There was once normalcy to this ball that spun and twirled
Now it's all out of cycle, and loosing it's grip
What is that madness into which we've been hurled?
Were we created men, or of ocean, that sucked and swirled
Arms, wings, legs, or fins, with which did 'god' equip?
New world, old world, kind world, cold world
Those better-off, arguing beliefs, pay no attention to 'Third-world'
Starvation? HIV? Darfur? Drug rings? The Gaza Strip?
What is this madness into which we've been hurled?
I must ask of you, are we on track with the real world?
It's as if, here, sanity found a slope, and now it's entirely slipped
New world, old world, kind world, cold world
What is this madness into which we've been hurled?

This is an actual Vilanelle, or my attempt at one... please don't criticize too much.
