war isn't just
bodies sticking from the earth
like hipbones, and
dread singing the seams
of your shirt.
it's lies,
intercepting fear
and tearing
the concealer
from naivete.
but we learn
so little
from peace.
bodies sticking from the earth
like hipbones, and
dread singing the seams
of your shirt.
it's lies,
intercepting fear
and tearing
the concealer
from naivete.
but we learn
so little
from peace.
Author notes
Prompt: day 2, "Pulling Thoughts From My Sleeves"
I don't know... the title sort of made me want to just write down what's been going on in my head all day. I like it, but at the same time I don't.
AN: color me silent
