In the year 2006 NBA Finals seasons last game played in Miami
With VIP tickets as a guest of Cousin Shaq himself so called by the family
Now Shaquille O’Neal’s first cousin is my own very best friend
And she invited me to come along to do the family reunion thing
I have to tell you that this tale is the truth and not a lie
I’ve never even seen a basketball game never even tried
Sports is not my forte and this game gave me no thrills
But I met his whole family and for that chance I would kill
They welcomed me with open arms as if they knew me well
His mother even embraced me and thought that I was swell
Over drinks and a huge spread set out before one and all
I felt like a princess and definitely the bell of the ball
We walked in to the arena and was escorted to the suite
Flat screen TV’s everywhere and every conceivable treat
I didn’t have a clue what was going on from that fancy room
Every one was cheering and I just looked and tried not to swoon
Well as you know that year Miami Heat won the NBA Finals
And there I was sitting in VIP seats of soft leather not vinyl
Seven days of bliss finalized by hobnobbing with the famous and the rich
I’ll never forget Florida and let us not forget South Beach in 2006
One day I will return an obscure tourist but that’s okay
I loved the place and often dream of going back one day
