It never get's easy
saying goodbye
to the one you love,
when it's over,
what is there to do?
Unfinished business
more to do,
but they said, "no,"
they said, "no."
So you sit and stare
watching the fallen leaves
scatter from the wind.
You wonder what went wrong,
no explanation to give
only the result of fallen tears.
Dreams start to haunt,
along with past glimpses
and stares once filled with devotion.
When desolation is your only friend,
you wonder sometimes out loud,
"what went wrong, what went wrong?"
You may never know,
only assume
but the end result is falling tears.
