Vice Versa

Their inkling to ignore the facts
Blatant refusal to react
Taking oath to blood thirsty pacts
Ever willing to retract

Receiving donations of torment
Efforts only ferment
Left to a dream that lies dormant
Time is already spent

Author notes

inpired by the domino effect of greed, the 1st verse speaking of those in power and their blatant ignorance of the plight of those who live in relation to the 2nd verse, people in the 3rd world who have to accept life as is, which is predetermined as a life of servitude...http://allpoetry.com/contest/2425107

    thanks Criss!
I would say this piece is inpired by the domino effect of greed, the 1st verse speaking of those in power and their blatant ignorance of the plight of those who live in relation to the 2nd verse, people in the 3rd world who have to accept life as is, which is predetermined as a life of servitude.
Hope this helps, sorry its such a dismal description...
Many thanks for your comment & time,
    Rose

I think that you did a good job with this poem. But I'd like to know how you link it to the prompt. I got the cause and effect from one line to the next.

I'd just like a more detailed expression of this beautifully worded poem.

    I like it!

To me it seems to represent the effect of corruption and how it insidiously creeps into society and makes our dreams dormant. Time is wasted and much is lost from just a little corruption. One bad apple can spoil the whole bunch, if it is left to rot there!

Best wishes in the contest. This was very thought provoking. Don't know if my projection was your intention, but it is what it inspired in me.
