through a season
of frozen dreams
and heated words
all of me
wrapped tight
in a cocoon
of my own making
I crept slowly
clung tentatively
to a life,
connected by
shadows to
be kept unseen
dark clouds
misted sight,
hung on lashes
where icicles
formed; alone
found strength
in words
that skated
across pages
flowed freely
from ebony ink,
no longer stilled
by blind confusion
reality warmed
chilled bones,
gave voice
to a silent heart,
awoke a dormant soul
unfurled these wings,
set a new course
took flight to
new horizons

So worthy of Gold! Congratulations
So beautiful and even has a happy ending. If only life could restore itself after torment and pain.

Thank You
so much for the honour of Gold. A great prompt to work with. I had been listening to some music and when I read your prompt the words just seemed to flow with ease.

Thanks Cyn for your lovely comment. I had been listening to 'To live is to fly' by Guy Clark last night & again this morning. It gave me a bit of inspiration perhaps.
