Sandalwood key chain

Towards the twilight of my stay here
lots of memoirs walk past the eyes
when friends were million dollars dear
and life was a rainbow in  blue skies

abundance of free time during the nights
wake up calls were a waste
when countless stars lit up the sight
and dew enhanced night tea's taste

when aromas of thoughts floated along
in the backside of lecture halls
a hundred artworks will live for long
on the wooden benches and walls

sitting for hours in shades of the trees
munching potatoes wrapped in gram flour
unlocking life's mysteries with dream's keys
while plucking the petals of a flower

said unsaid, known unknown
I've been a part of this land
now day draws close when I would be gone
to hold life's new phase's hand

to cherish the stay I write this down
today; to be read again...
while I walk in a different town
with the sandalwood key chain!
