The Sun Will Set For You

I still remember sleep sometimes.
Before she ever crossed my eyes.
Yet now sleep is a memory.
My nights do not belong to me.
Dreaming of her leaves me restless.
This constant pressure on my chest,
The tears that need no prompt to fall,
Refuse to let me sleep at all.
I would stay awake any way,
If just to keep the dreams at bay.
But no matter how much I fight,
I think about her every night.
Though lonely, I'm never alone.
Her memory is here to stay.
I'll try to sleep, I'll toss and moan,
So I can dream of her all day.

Author notes

I know the title is a little out there, it probably makes sense only to me, oh well. Listen to Shadow of the Day, by LInkin Park.

I really like this poem, it's got such great flow! The last part of your poem is a bit awkward, but that's just my opinion. I can definitely relate to a poem like this, nights staying awake wondering if she's thinking of you and so on.

I've also heard that Linkin Park song, I love it.
