Red as blood
for those who died in mud
a poppy we wear
to show that we care.
To remember the fallen
whose lives were stollen
To remember our debt
to those we've never met.
A poppy on our coat
is a simple note
to all who see
that these men died for me.
They died to preserve
our freedom and conserve
who we are
In doing so they left a scar.
A poppy we wear
to show that we care
and remember this scar
to remember who they are.
Remember this
the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
