Heady scent
of fallen leaf
an autumn quilt
for mother nature
Heavy dew
turns to frost
cold winds blow
in silence
Frigid rains
heavy in duration
laced with ice crystal
in the seasons change
Songbirds take flight
from this barren place
in the circle of life
where we shall stay
