Paths, Sojourns, & Meanderings

I am going to war
 with my demons
to conquer
and be freed from self.

I am going to fall
and pick my self up again
to wrench the last drop out of life.

I am going to succeed
and shoot out
like a volatile missile of nuclear hope
in a cold war with society
to accomodate my nature.

I am going to sober up
when I eat dirt
to feed roots
because Vallhalla is condemned.

I am going to create
for if I do not
I desecrate a gift
and destruct within.

May I follow the thin red path...

"thin red path" concept I heard conveyed years ago by Jesse Nighthawk concerning life destiny and walking a life true to the heart of hearts.

    Your first stanza is a motto that many should live by! If only we could all be strong enough to conquer that which seeks to destroy all that we are or strive to achieve! A very powerful piece by the master of the poetic tongue! Well done and best wishes here...I couldn't resist your sirens song for long! I have missed your fork tongued wit! Hope all is well.....
