Love blossoms in the bosom, bountiful and breathtaking.
Young love emerges from innocent hearts
And remains for a brief moment
only to fade as the fleeting dream is lost
in the wakefulness of dawn.
How rare is the beauty and splendor of the first love.
A heart, untouched, unbroken,
full of expectations, full of love,
Blindly given despite all fears of failure.
You and I were so young,
so full of possibilities.
We were stars colliding in a universe unable to keep us apart.
When I held your hand ,I felt the world in my grasp,
A world where We exist.
You held me tight.
We bore our souls and shared so much.
Three years and suddenly you were gone.
I wrote you a poem, only for you,
One day I'll leave it for you to read through.
I shall never love another first.
I can only pray to one day love with the same brilliance,
the same hue of light that we embodied.
Author notes
my expectations of brilliance
remain folded and faded,
deep in the pocket
of his tattered tweed coat."
