You've been my friend, my confidante, my smile
Then you decided to take a break for awhile
Because life befell us like a dark stormy night
Rather than behold the power of the storm - soak it in, ride it out, like a brave and fearless Knight -
You decided to recede - to succumb to the darkness and leave
I don't deserve to be left alone the way that you have fled
I am not your fool and I will not bow down to you
There's a wonderful world for me to explore
My friendship was a priceless jewel that you threw away into the storm
A jewel in me that you just ignore
I am worth more than that
The storm has swallowed you whole, but I will be the galant one riding
Riding through the storm until the storm passes
Riding until I am with others who are worthy of my friendship
Others who will protect me as I protect them from lifes dark storm

Thank you for reading! I entered a contest and the person removed it. I'm not sure why because there wasn't any comments other than it was removed. I wrote this on the cuff...I read what they had posted and I was supposed to convince them to move on from this person, I guess it didn't work for them. But thank you very much for commenting!
