Children laughing
Playing loudly
Like they do
Birds chirping
Squirrels chattering
Like they do
Teens flirting
Giggling and shoving
Like they do
Just another quiet day in the park
With me and my camera
And a perfect sky
Plenty to shoot
The newest gang
Is out for initiation
Guns in hand
Crazed shots flying
Bullets caught on Polaroid
Before the blood stains the camera
And my life is gone
Author notes
the title option.. obviously using Snapshots and Shootings

The repetition of ‘Like they do' set the scene very well. I like how you mentioned that when you take a picture it's called "shooting" and then brought out the actual violence. You were the only one to notice that, I actually didn't realize it until I read this!

This is a great write and portrays the real life events that happen mostly every day

wow this is really good, such a sad story, and such chilling a reflection on the way our society is these days, it's so beautiful and normal until the last two stanzas and then it all ends, just wonderful, best of luck in the contest
