The Treefort
W. Peter Sanci Nov. 10 / 2008
Well hello again my dear friends.
I come to you tonight with another
Humble offering.
I’m sure that most of you know what a treefort is.
My dad made my brother and I one up at the cottage many, many years ago now.
It was in the back lot, away from all of the action by the lake.
My brother and I would head up there shortly after breakfast and not come down till we heard the sound of the dinner gong.
That’s right we had a dinner gong at the cottage.
Well Mike (my little brother’s name of course would pretend all day up in our little piece of pardise.
We would be King Arthur and his Knights of that Round Table in Legendary Camelot.
We would pretend to be General George Custer and theMighty Chief Sitting Bull.
Oh the many many joyful hours we spent up in that old tree fort.
I started thinking of it when we were on our Thanksgiving Day hay ride where up in a tree I spotted an old treefort, and it transported me back in time to our old fort up at the cottage.
What pleasant memories they did bring me that day.
The End
