I still remember
How I felt
On the precious day
That you made my heart melt.
You were perfectly perfect
As far as I could see.
I was delighted to know
That you belonged to me.
I was never afraid
Nor did I regret that I had you.
Even when others said
That being a teenage mom was a hard thing to do.
You changed my life in so many ways.
I can't even begin to count
For it would take days.
I know it's my job each day
To teach you something new. But I must admit that
The one who does the most teaching is you.
Because of you, I now know
All of the important things
A person needs to truly grow.
