Indulgence of Grace!

Rawhide swept in
gingervine

Twisting and turning
topsy-turvy on my mind

skills to endure
the hardest of times

blistering melancholy
nursery rhymes

melodies that render
me blind

I scavenge for blissful
clementines

to infiltrate bittersweet
parched memories that agonize

casting horrid shadows
of maggot flies

My joints explode into
a fiery mist

peeling into crystalized
cyst

Darkness my sobriety,
a soothing script

to benign screaming demons
that align the crypt

Elixirs of grace
I humbly strip

As fires of hell
extinguish in every sip

This was a different spin on the theme and I appreciated that considering where you went with the idea. Great use of metaphor and imagery.

the elixirs of grace, caught my eye...
I was wishing you would have expanded that.
Being a huge fan of dark poetry...i couldn't tell
if you were angst in the beginning or un-ravelling
    the tensions dark.

    the fires of hell singe
    weary excuse and dead flesh...
a delicious elixir of sobering grace.
interesting poem..you give us much to chew
    upon!
    write, write, write!
