It all started out in the snowy alps,
the place where Rudolph frolicked about.
There was a bright night and he ran out to play ,
but poor Rudolph didn't see that barn that day.
Brand new it was and was built in one day,
it wasn't there when Rudolph played there yesterday .
Freshly painted the brightest red ,
and now there is a little round spot missing its on Rudolphs nose instead .
He shook his head and staggered back ,
looked all about shouting what was that!
As he seen the large building he couldn't believe his eyes,
their was a jolly fat man that jumped out and yelled surprise !
I just got it started the new home you see,
for even Santa needs a vacation home indeed .
I painted it red so all the critters would be aware ,
but I guess you didn't see it for your antlers up there .
Rudolph shook his head and replied, what are you gonna do up here?
Its cold and lonely and now your smoke will dull the air.
Santa sat down on the snow and replied I have work to do ,
and son believe me ,you got some work ahead of you to.
"Work" Rudolph replied, what the heck is that ?
And Santa chuckled wiggling his belly and replied your the leader of the pack!
What pack, Rudolph said, and he seemed so confused ;
then Santa told Rudolph you have to gather up your friends we have work to do .
Rudolph shook his big head and headed towards the woods,
and some of the other reindeer saw his red nose and that wasn't good.
They tried to run him off even though they had known him all his life ,
that's when Santa drew near and made his nose become extra bright .
All the animals in the forest began to draw near ,
and Rudolph was nervous and backed away for he felt fear.
Don't be afraid Rudolph for now you work for me,
along with all those over there your friends I do see .
Now you know how it all got started,
and the red nose Rudolph has this day.
For Santa painting his new castle for making toys along the way.
Rudolph became the leader and his friends came along,
and were so proud of the harnesses with the bells ringing strong.
So the very first Ho Ho Ho Santa ever chuckled that day,
was when he saw Rudolph hit that barn in such a way .
He felt badly for the reindeer so he gave him the lead,
for the delivery of Christmas gifts for he won't never run into a barn again indeed .
