Chicken Feet

Yellow fur,
and a orange beak.
This tap dancing chicken
could sure move his feet.

Waltz or ballet,
you name his dance,
this tap dancing chicken,
just needed a chance.

The music played,
on and on.
This tap dancing chicken
danced through the dawn.

An event showed its self,
like the rising sun,
a Talent Show  on Monday,
his practice just begun.

He danced and he danced,
no time for rest,
this tap dancing chicken,
need to dance his best.

The farm sat down,
and on the stage ,
this tap dancing chicken,
wrote his book a new page.

Hhe beat began,
booming loud and clear.
But this tap dancing chicken,
caught the stage of fear.

His feet froze,
his wings would not flutter.
Until the rooster in the audience,
let out a stutter:

"Come...come..come on boy
just tap to the beat
i know you can do...do it
just move your feet"

With a lift of confidence,
his chicken feet moved,
this tap dancing chicken,
created a groove,

The audience's wings,
all flapped together ,
and when it was over,
a squawk came from his mother:

"That's my boy,
just keep moving your feet,
that's my boy,
dance to the beat!"

He took his bow,
the audience clapped,
his feet continued to move,
his wings continued to flap.

Time came for audience,
to place its bets.
Who would win first;
our tap dancing chicken,
or the cows duet?

"Drum roll please,"
Its time to find out,
if our chicken won,
or if his dancing dreams,
are dashed and out.

"The ballets are in"
The pig spoke so calm yet beamed:
"I am sorry my cows,
becuase i'm about to crush your dreams"

Yes a true story,
the chicken one first place,
my dear friends;
you should have seen his face!

But you can see him ,
on Tuesday you see,
he dances on stage,
and dances with glee.
