Sunset

Sunset

My spirit stood still in that tiny craft
as the moonlit lake was veiled by the mist.
Our spirits joined and together we laughed
as you gallantly raised and kissed my wrist.
The warmth of your heart I could not resist
as you caressed me with your inner glow.
My soul was clouded by what I had missed
and that which I feel, I want you to know.

I never knew what your love could bestow
as it shed its light on my clouded mind.
Together, I knew our spirits would grow
with our hearts and souls forever entwined.
The veil of the lake was lifted that day
sailing with you in a moonlit ballet.

I'm impressed. This paints a beautiful picture of warm loving friendship with great imagery. The piece flows wonderfully and the rhymes never once seem forced.
I especially loved how your describe the inner glow of a person. You use my love language of touch to describe what is most important about a person - who they are on the inside.
    Loved it!

Beautiful write, Amera. Wonderful poetic form. Seems every poem I read of yours, I always read a new style. I like the way you ended this piece about the moon. It seemed to express lots of emotion and imagery, like feeling happy in the company of a loved one. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest.

There is nothing like the sound of water gently caressing the side of a boat, the warm breeze addign a slight rustle to your hair, the sun slowly winking out like a candle's last gasp, and your lips pressed tight to anothers, sealing the day in an unspoke

lovely visual here...I have always loved being at the mercy of the mighty sea and the even more powerful allure of a lady sharing it with me....Artis

A Spensarian sonnet of the very highest order, a form I rarely enjoy, either reading or writing here the linked rhymes produce a soft romantic flow from beginning to end, wit a couplet to die for
