Presentiment

A hopeless presentiment came to me lately
As a matter of fact, it did worry me greatly.
This presentiment had almost ruined my day
And I worried, and worried but-oh!-it did stay,

For you see, this strange thought did come quite in this fashion
Should my waist really have such a cop'ous expansion?
And should I, perhaps, take a ton off for show?
Or keep gaining and gaining, the record to blow?

On one side is beauty, pomp, grandeur, and pride
The other is fame and my fat glorified
Eventually I (for my brain is quite average)
Had to go to the experts so wit they could salvage.

They told me it was just a usual thing
That all of the people this problem do bring
So here I am now, at my home and unheeded
And soon, drowned in food, my presentiment fleeted.

What did you think
