The Reddest Apple

The reddest apple on the tree
fell on the ground with a loud thud
after the harsh wind blew one cold winter day.

I would have to say that this poem could mean...even the best of us will fall down at one point in our lives. There are so many other things and they are all listen below. Clever write about nothing and yet everything.

    Nice!

Good thought! It's not really a Haiku! But, it is a very concise, little poem with fine imagery! I like it! Good work!

oh it wasnt supposed to be a haiku. it was for a contest where i was suppoesed to write a 3 line poem that sounds smart but means nothing.

...but appearently a lot of people found a lot of themes.

Aw, a sad poem that could mean that the smartest kid in the class failed his math test. LOL Thank you for your cleverness, good poet!

I think someone who meant alot to you died in winter, and the loud thud was your heartbreaking.

I would have to agree with Scyphon with this one but i also think that the harder we try to be brilliant even if we are the best, one day if we reach the top of the ladder, we have no way to fall but...down

    Here's my guess:

    The higher (brighter) they are
    the harder (louder) they fall

Good luck in the contest!! Peace, Cyn

We vainly build ourselves up to be this picture perfect person that everybody so selfishly craves. But one day, that superficial world will shatter and we'll be thrust back into reality.

Great Poem by the way!! Good luck in the contest!

This poem seems "interpretable".I'm guessing it means that the things we hold with the greatest prestige will eventually come tumbling down like everything else, Nothing lasts forever, and glamor falls in the harshest of times
