Mon Cheri

You and I...
You and I are the sun and the moon,
Whose paths never cross,
Whose lights are not seen by the other,
Save for once upon a time.
They circle around a common orb of life,
Opposites, night and day.
The life beneath them that they share
Flourishes under their pairing.
This life we share, it needs you and I.
Yet the moon cannot shine without the sun,
She is bare and white, dark and shivering.
She needs his flame to make her glow,
So I am she, and you, my sun.
A moment in the shadow, shall shares our fates.
The sun and the moon finally meet
In that moment of once upon a time, creating
An impression on the life and time between.
The moon silhouetted within the sun's gaze,
The sun embracing the moon's ivory face
With a smiling golden flame.
In this moment, only joy, even in darkness.
For in this moment, they are one flesh.
You and I, mon cheri.
