I have been built by circumstance
A break here, a cancer there,
and when I look in the mirror sometimes,
sometimes, its all I see.
My family sees me as the Meme
Solver of problems small and
the laughter midst propriety' s banner
are ones that can I see
My church sees me as the Mizann
painter of Noah's Ark and things
and when I look at my class, the sweet smiles
smiles just for me...you know
My husband sees me as his wife, Ayne
A fighter, a doer, lover
and when I look in the mirror, I see
I see what is left, my face.
My friends know me as the thinker, the Mick
A word here, a what if, there
in between coffee and comfort, words
copious amounts of words
I have been torn down and rebuilt
A loss here, a turning there
I see no beauty, but strength, courage, hope,
A giver of these things
What I am, what better
Than what God sees?

Eye of the Tiger,a stealth sure survivor. So many admire, the courage inside her.Her essence of fire burns bright, lighting our darkest nights, she's as real as is right. And my friend is a delight! Silly,I know. But this offering of and by you, epitomizes and inspires the lill' slimy rhymer poetess in me.Keep it always real Ann.Luv ya!

Exactly.
What one sees in the mirror after cancer is only a book cover for what is on the inside. You have found that out and you did very well with this piece.

A beauty too
You've been a good sister to me Anne. I care little about what you look like but more of what you are and that I care a great deal about.
A wonderful entry into this contest for sure!
Jim
