he was,
he was mine.
strong and fearless and all-powerful,
graceful, in a majestic almost frightening way.
she was flawless, naïve,
and small enough to fit into his outstretched, waiting arms.
they attracted like positives and negatives,
like the sun and the moon
and they never ever let each other go.
Author notes
PROMPT: "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb..." -Twilight
that quote is quite possibly one of the most beautiful quotes in existence, in my opinion.

Sounds like myself and my ex... in our case the lamb fell in love with the lion though
This poem fit the prompt excellently, no wonder you won the gold

this reminds me of something i have read in a book by david gemmel, he says something like ill let you into heaven when the wolf sits down with the lambs and the lion eats grass as the cattle do, i like the relevance this poem has to the quote
a great write -
they attracted like positives and negatives,
like the sun and the moon
and they never ever let each other go.
