They all knew that he was harmless,
A gentle breeze upon the sea,
They thought she gave in to the devil,
Her eyes glowed hostility.
They never heard a peep from him,
Defenseless and docile as a lamb,
And still the lion bared her claws,
So they shunned her heart as damned.
In time they thought that all was lost,
And yet the sweet lamb smiled,
For deep inside the lion's soul,
Were stirrings of love for that child.
Author notes
"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb..."
The lamb is an orphan boy who just wants a mother's love. The lioness is a young woman who resents all children because her own son died, until she meets that little boy.
