Egotarded

You've read Melville, Vonnegut, James Joyce, and George Eliot,
passed the profeciency test for creative intellect,
by acceptance into your group of mentors.
Mostly older men who might consider fucking you.
Did they offer you glasses of Opus 8?
And yet, and still, you belittle and berate the peers left behind,
you're an egomaniacle and flaming little dick head,
full of consideration for nobody but yourself.

No, you don't have a clue that you don't have a clue.
And are reather uncertain of what that means.

Finger banging is all right,
as long as you get your cock sucked.

Your only mission is to impose your self proclaimed,
greatness.

Dostoevsky, Thomas Mann, Faulkner, and Czeslaw Milosz,
have thus far not been able to save you from this fate.

But don't sweat it brother, it's not too late.
Just get some chalk and slate,
and write "I am okay, but not the greatest."
500 times on the chalkboard.
If you don't feel better towards your fellow man,
try it again the next day...
until you suspect someone else might possibly have something of value to say.

Author notes

Sometimes people who have accomplished themselves creatively are so misguided, all of their experiences and depth of emotion, manifest only as empty conversations about themselves. No talk of their limitations, no humility...just endless mindless mental masturbation. And they expect everyone else to watch.

I agree, we usually do grow out of it. That's the point, if you don't grow out of it - that is, the conviction that we know what's best - then, it be better if we choke on our own words. I understand what you mean when you say sometimes a person just needs to vent.

I like the authors you mention.
    I also like humility.

    Best,
    Maria

I didn't realize I had a meter. I like the idea that I may have accomplished something of a meter somehow. I try to intuitively...but it's organic...thus imperfect from a really articulate viewpoint.
Good luck defining or placing the meter I've defined here.
It would be awesome if you could...but...I'm glad you liked the timing.
      Thank you for the compliment.

      take care.

I think most of us go through this egomaniacle phase where we think only our own opinion matters. It's difficult not to when you live in a macrocosm where people are happy to let you think that's true. Or because you throw a fit otherwise. Most of us grow out of it, but for some it's a terminal state. Humility and compassion are invaluable traits of a complete human being.
