Good Show, Even In The Back Row

tonight was a date
I won't forget for a while
She invited me to go
I hadn't seen her in a while
What was I supposed to say? No
No, I went with her
As she missed me so much

We sat near the back, the very back
She sat on my left
I'm deaf on my right
I know my friends are in the show
I want to support them dearly
But the angel to my left is talking
And I listen

After a while the lights dim
The show starts
I'm looking for and watching for my friends
And I'm succeeding
But I feel these eyes on my cheek, lips and eyes
Putting my forehead on her temple i whisper in her ear
"wat are you thinking?"
as I turn away
kissing my cheek
"nothing"
and i return the favor
"i knew it was something"
i kiss her one more time
and she says
"I love you"

Until later I'm focused on that
I'm watching the show
Focused on friends again
she lays her head on me
And I think she really cares
I kiss her again, on the forhead
She kisses my cheek
And I think, this is enough
And I kiss her lips
I can feel she's confused
She does not know what to do
She's just mimicing me
But as I kiss I can't help but think
"I gotta go back"
"I'm sorry hun"
"I don't want to hurt you"
I doubt she cares at the moment
I may not be paying attention anymore
To my friends on stage
But I know the show is good
Even in the back row

My toung that has kissed death
Slices words of those wicked to me
Massaged her toung
Drove her wild
She told me afterwards
This was a good show
