Reach out and touch the reflection; tell me if it's real.
I'm wishing for a nightmare and hoping I'm awake.
The truth falls apart, for my reality's lost along the way.
I know you don't hear the words you've said.
You wouldn't, if only you knew the secrets I keep.
And if only it were true, I'd have no fear of waking.
So don't, don't tell me how it feels to be burning.
Don't tell me when your reflection kisses your cheek.
If all I have is a dream, please, don't wake me up.
Author notes
This comes from something I've been thinking about a lot today.
What can I say, I have a lot of questions.

excellent expression
Some very deep feelings in this write.
I like the rhythm of your poem, and there are so many questions that run through our minds at times.
I really like these 2 lines:
"So don't, don't tell me how it feels to be burning.
Don't tell me when your reflection kisses your cheek."
Keep up the great work!
