I know I shouldn’t be saying this,
But I’m sorry for what I’ve done.
I pushed you to move on,
And now, this is what it’s become.
Because of what I did,
We lost a valued friendship.
All because of me, eager to have you.
And now, I’ve lost my most closest friend.
We have nothing to say anymore,
And we can’t talk face to face.
It’s killing me to see you upset,
It hurts to know you’re losing the battle,
And I can’t help you through any of it.
I’m the post that stands beside you,
Watching you go down in flames,
And can’t reach out and help you.
Can’t grab your hand, and guide you.
Can’t hold you up, and support you.
Just witnessing it and standing there,
Feels like I’m committing treason.
Only different, losing my best friends my reason.
Turning against my other friends,
Over a “little” thing like this,
But it ain’t little, my hearts committing arson.
Setting itself on fire, just to feel what you feel.
Just to hurt like you hurt,
Just to die like you die.
I know I shouldn’t be saying this,
But I’m sorry for what I’ve done.
I pushed you to move on,
And now, this is what its become.

Lovely lyrical piece
This poem has a lyrical quality, particularly the bit at the start that is repeated at the end.
All the emotion expressed here I feel that I can relate to quite closely. I think everyone can.
The idea of one's heart burning itself when it sees another's heart in pain is at once tragic and beautiful.
Great work and I hope you and the friend concerned have recovered from this dark place by this time! =)
