Escape

Escape

I stripped myself of all my fear
and left behind a worldly guise.
The tides would part as I drew near,
behind the curtains of my eyes.

I stepped into an ocean blue
where liquid dreams would then arise;
embracing thoughts as dreamers do,
behind the curtains of my eyes.

And from the sea of hope appears
a palace reaching for the skies,
a sanctuary without tears,
behind the curtains of my eyes.

I stripped myself of all my fear,
behind the curtains of my eyes.

Beautiful, as always. I really do need to stop neglecting your work.

I love the connection between 'I stripped my self of all my fear' and the picture.

    Are those hands waving?
Nice Kyrielle Sonnet Amera and an interesting story of someone who needs to escape for some reason only she can know or imagine.

This was a real pleasure to read, as always your words choices are beautiful and I would be hard pushed to find a better Kyrielle Sonnet.

    All the best

This is really amazing. I have never seen this king of poetry form before but to see such classical work on this web site blows my mind. I don't know how you do it.

This is not only sonnet in fashion, but ghazal in statement, the allure of the parting is equal to the mass converging on the visual. The weight of the eye, I suppose would be on the naked body, missing out on all that fabulous sea scape. I would reminisce this a luxury read, somewhat similar as if I were on the beach myself, tasting this beautiful thirst.

    Bravo

Your choice of a repeating line is dazzling.
By using the first and last line of the first quatrain as the ending couplet
this ends the poem with a magic touch.

Very glad to see that writing echo sonnets has not corrupted your skill at the Kyrielle version, this is a beautiful fit to the picture, superb work
