You speak of your past
And your eyes turn grey with the memories
I feel drawn in through these grey holes
As if I were there
I wish I could have held you back then
When you were dealing with your pain
But I am here and have only been here a few months
I cannot drift back into your past
And would not wish you to repeat it
But I see things in your eyes
Things you have not even told me
Things I just know
Through your eyes
I see it all --
Your past
And your hopes for the future

I wish I had a friend like you...ever. I'm the one that holds all of my friends burdens, and yet have more burdens to hold, and yet none of them are willing to do what I do for them. I enjoyed this. Great job.

This poem is absolutely beautiful and so many times there are those who have had a really depressing past and it takes one to really love you to change all of that and give you hope. You did a marvelous job with this and I'm impressed. Best of luck to you in the contest and may God bless you always.
