'Measure for Measure'

Missing image

Shakespeare saw me naked
twas a night I'll never forget
when Angelo persuaded me
to lie on Shakespeare's bed
~*~
allow me to explain events
that led up to this conclusion
I won't go into detail though
  just use your imagination
~*~
he took me to Shakespeare's abode
told me the bard had gone away
to spend the weekend with his friends
  it was so daringly risque
~*~
we climbed in through a window
he had no problems getting in
but when clumsily I tried to follow
a nail caught and tore my hem
~*~
I fell into the darkened room
disorientated and dishevelled
he was no help at all to me
for he was laughing hysterically
 ~*~
I must admit I did laugh too
once I had recovered my composure
I slapped him once on the behind
and then again for good measure
~*~
we fumbled our way around the room
looking for candles to light our path
once lit, we moved from room to room
until we found the bedroom at last
~*~
Angelo cajoled and begged me
to rehearse the love scene again
I thought it would be ironic for us
to rehearse right there and then
~*~
between stifled giggles,we said our lines
with impromptu words aplenty
we were high on life and having fun
this would be our downfall eventually
~*~
once finished we lay upon the bed
laughing at our endeavour

he put his arm around my waist

and pulled me ever nearer
~*~
we looked into each others eyes
as passion stroked our senses
we leant closer until I felt his lips
brush mine, shedding my defences
~*~
passion flared and we made love
intensely wrapped in each other
then we lay back to catch our breath
and smiled at one another
~*~
parched as I was from this display
I asked him to get me some water
he got up and left to find a drink
as I lay down sated and exhausted
~*~
I must have fallen fast asleep
while he was off exploring
when he came back with a drink
he teased me about my snoring
~*~
I blushed and hit him with a pillow
he grabbed one and hit me back
I ran from the room to escape him
and hid in the hall, ready to attack
~*~
I heard footsteps coming closer
so I braced myself for action
but to my surprise..when I hit out
it wasn't Angelo I was tackling
~*~
I stood back in sheer disbelief
I couldn't believe my eyes
Shakespeare saw me naked
while I gaped in utter surprise
~*~
I started to mumble apologies
as my face turned slowly red
when suddenly he guffawed
and I laughed with him instead
~*~
Angelo came over and told him
we were practising for the play
he said he would deal with us later
but his smile said it was okay
~*~
on a final note...the play went well
we enjoyed each and every moment
but I can't forget the moment when
Shakespeare saw me naked

  • a splendid piece of poetry which uses words wisely and they are all in the correct places, which helps when reading, naked and smiling artistic delight as times of old crash into the present's ways. love and fun, well they go together like slap and stick! - a fun poem

    Gosh!

Except at one point, the flow pulls the reader into the picture of an erotic loving lady, and the crafty writer Shakespeare must have lost quite a lot of words from his mind being replaced by this jinx. With dropped jaws and that pointed beard to touch in awe... what a scene.

    Lol
    crazy thoughts?
That is what this write brings to my mind.
    Congrats.

    Holy Dramatic Moment !!!

    Shakespeare in the play?
    Or Shakespeare everyday?
    Who saw you there
    Completely bare?
I just don't know what to say!

    Clever...

An excellent take on the prompt.

Funny too, you did your research and came up with a witty well written poem that was very enjoyable and as I said, clever...

The only thing I would work on (since you asked) is the flow, other than that....

    Good stuff.

    This is a hard one...

Mariana, from our Spanish brethren, meaning quite literally...

    Sea of Bitterness....lol

Or from the french that brought us such things as Existentialism and of course everyone's favorite position...(well at least guys anyways)...the wonderful 69'er...hahaha

Mariana (in french) is a variant of Marian, or Mary, in latin, meaning "Star of the Sea"..

But alas, since our beloved Shakespeare gave this name in one his plays I must follow his wisdom..

so...*taps chin*, what will it be....k, how about...

    "Shakespeare saw me naked while..."
