"The night has a thousand eyes, And the day but one;
Yet the light of the bright world dies with the dying sun
The mind has a thousand eyes, And the heart but one;
Yet the light of a whole life dies when love is done."
~Francis William Bourdillon
Open wide, my love, my love
to take the spaces that we've left between us,
I've lived perhaps half this life
and this one thing I've learned;
that to live without you by my side
is to hardly live at all.
And here, with the city flowing out beneath
I would throw away the world
just to take your hand back to where it was
when I held it close with mine.
Oh, I would paint a picture of an ocean
with a hundred thousand stories within it's heart,
to describe the glories that I've found along
the curves of your gentle smile.
So I stand shivering, alone beneath the stars,
begging for the moment that
you'll find your way silently back
into my waiting arms.

No matter how far she runs, I will wait here.
