Christmas With Mini Pearl And Phillis Diller Humor

I feel like a royal nut ,
for Christmas you see I never get enough.
To bring on smiles of others are a gift you see,
so I dress like Mini Pearl and have Phillis Dillers glee.

Dressed in a hat with price tag dangling down,
I changed that price tag for and ornament with sound .
Teased my hair all up like the young kids today,
and put me on a pair of heals with a light display .

Decided to go to Walmarts for the meal I was to prepare,
and i sure got a lot of people left in a stare .
They even followed me at times wondering who let me out,
and when I caught them I acted like they were relatives and out I would shout .

Hey Ferdie where have you been,
I haven't seen you in ages and they were shocked as I displayed a toothless grin.
Everyone began to laugh and make fun of my display ,
but you know it's  a day that they will never forget along the way .

Now to enjoy the holidays one must become a total nut,
not hold onto those old worries and wear them as a crutch.
Get yourself on out there and have yourself a time,
and believe you me it wont cost you nary a dime .

And you can meet some good people along the way ,
what better gift to receive than a new friend I would say.
To enjoy life is the best that one can do ,
and trust me most of the people there they don't even know you.

I wore this here full skirt brightest red ever was ,
and a blouse made of red silk with a cursage with some doves.
All over my skirt I tied on little boxes with bows ,
and as I passed by any child I would give them a gift wrapped with gold.

I spent the whole day there at the store,
and the joys I received I couldn't ask for more.
But when my relatives saw me they would run in freight ,
as I would raise my arms and shout out hey everyone there goes Mike .

Remember to be yourself and by all means enjoy life,
let that child within you out to play that's right .
For why do you think there are so many unhappy people around,
its because they never play and let their hair down.

For those who looked sad I invited them to my home,
it was the very best Christmas I had ever known .
Why not they would reply sounds like a lot of fun,
and I would whisper in their ear just come on and be yourself hun.

We had all races there at my party that night,
all the kids played together and had such sparkles in their eyes.
Everyone brought something it didn't matter how small ,
and as the evening came to an end the good Lord came to call .

For a blessing was shared and friendships made,
we were one the people for this special day .
You never know when I might just lose it again,
and end up at the Walmart meeting people with my toothless grin .

Author notes

A smile and a hug often is the only gift some people get and some never gets this unless someone decides to help . Get out there and look around they will come to you and in you being that child again it will creat a muse
one where love is shown and lift those everyday blues

Cute poem about fun things. Some of the younger ones on this site might not know who these two lovable characters from by gone days are, but us oldies certainly do! Enjoyed reading this poem and the laughs I get from the lines. Cut ending too.

At first I thought of the little treat bowls of nuts (not getting enough), then realized you were being one yourself!
Great way to spend the day at WalMart.
Absolutely loved the marvelous creativity and kindness of a "skirt tied with little boxes" you gave to children you passed.
Fun Mini Pearl hat and Phyllis Diller wardrobe. Those kind, good-hearted ladies who would have enjoyed sharing that sweet day with you!

Sometimes the hectic nature of the holidays makes us too exhausted for a little fun. I enjoyed the playful nature of this poem. I think it would benefit from a re-read to correct grammar and spelling errors. Peace, Liz
